In the entertainment industry, many celebrities and public figures have fans and anti-fans. Everyone will have people who are fans of their work and there will be others who will not appreciate them and become anti-fans. As an anti-fan, there are numerous reasons why a person would not be a fan of someone which could be based on their personality or work. Even though I expect to have people who are fans of my endeavors and those who won’t be, I will always accept them even if they are a negative impact to my career. Sometimes, a great way to get fans is to do cosplay. Dressing up as a character from a movie, story, or play that are loved by people can get others to like you. To help a celebrity or public figure learn more about fandom culture, they can use an autoethnography to help them really understand what their fan identity is like. If they ask themselves questions about their fan identity, these people will be able to understand their situation more and assist them in becoming better figures in regards to fandom culture and the entertainment industry.
