Howdy! My name is Aaron Yang, a creative-minded individual dedicated and devoted to the arts and passionate about the entertainment industry. I am a 23 year old confident aspiring actor with cerebral palsy disability. Acting makes me happy and I’m excited to finally begin my next journey in starting my career in the acting world. The past year, I decided to get some TV/Film and Commercial training with a private acting coach on improv, cold reading, scene study, on camera, voiceover, self tape technique. In June 2022, I shot a drama, comedy and commercial reel. In addition I just took some headshots that represent the different types of roles I can go out for like the goofy funny guy on a TV sitcom or to the spokeperson selling a product/medication that helps with their disability on a commercial. I also graduated from Limelight Acting Studio’s 12 month acting academy in August 2022 and completed my training in singing voice/vocal training at LaVoix Studio in September 2022. I am currently an online student at Eastern New Mexico University pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Communication Studies with an emphasis in Public Relations.
As the IT/Marketing manager for my family’s snack shop Aji Ichiban, I help manage online sales. In April 2021, I was also featured in an NPR story titled: Aaron Yang: Voracious Reader or Giant Pain to Librarians, where I shared my unique love for libraries across America through summer reading program participations. Meeting Anne Ford opened my eyes to a whole new world and gave me the confidence in pursuing a career with lots of publicity experiences and opportunities. I have a unique love and passion for the Santa Clarita Valley. It was here that I found my calling in life and found my passion for the world of acting. In February 2023, the SCV Signal released an article, featuring me about my love for the arts and how I have big SCV dreams. The mayor of Santa Clarita, Jason Gibbs, presented me with a special award from the city, recognizing my unique dedication/devotion for their community and my passion for libraries across America and summer reading programs.
A graduate of Santa Barbara City College, I hold an Associate in Arts degree and certificate in marketing and is an honorary member of the Oregon Library Association/Oregon Young Adult Network. I was previously employed as a Walk to Art Community Programs Youth Artist Assistant at the Armory Center for the Arts in Pasadena, CA and a former delegate of the California YMCA Youth&Government Program. I fell in love with the arts world through my NPR experience and my involvement with LA County Library’s Turns the Tables mobile DJ Lab program. Under the instruction of DJ Lynnee Denise, I was coached in the art of DJing and followed the lab to all 5 library locations. It was through these many unique experiences in my life that made me passionate about acting and becoming a DJ. When I am not studying, training, or working, I can be found attending a wide variety of programming offered by libraries across the US, reading a unique selection of YA novels, DJing on my iMac, exploring new opportunities in being involved in the arts world, and socializing with my cross- country friends all over America. “I am excited to invest in an entertainment arts career as an actor, voiceover artist, audio producer, DJ, and audiobook narrator because the arts are what defines me as a person and is what makes me enjoy life to its fullest”. I look forward to starting my arts career soon and is grateful for all the support from my family and friends as I embark on a fun adventure career-wise.
