Whoa, what a day! Here’s a recap!
I was a little disappointed that my mom, aunt, and I were only able to visit 3 possible retail spaces yesterday, so I decided that I would call an Uber and have the car take me to visit more possibilities alone. Yesterday, I made a list of 10 locations that I felt would have some potential, although I only got to visit 7. Still, I am very proud of being able to accomplish this feat. Today at 8:30AM, I left for Canyon Country. I got dropped off at Reddy Plaza on Bouquet Canyon Road and I did some exploring. After a bit, I headed over to Canyon Country Village, where I explored the location a bit. I walked along the shops looking at the tenants.
The peculiar thing was, I had difficulty locating the 2 available spaces for lease. I went into the CVS Pharmacy and asked them, but the guy who came out with me wasn’t able to locate the spaces either. Despite that, I didn’t make anything out of it and visited Canyon Center. I was impressed by the number of tenants in the plaza that had Island Pacific Supermarket, Big Lots, and Dollar Tree. I was thrilled to be able to locate the available spaces here. I hung out for a bit at this location taking in the sights and sounds before heading to Canyon Square. I walked past the available spaces here and headed toward Vallarta Supermarket. My next destination was a plaza that I had seen when passing by that was for lease. I asked to be dropped off at Wells Fargo and walked over to the other plaza.
After a brief look, I went to Centre Pointe Marketplace on Golden Valley Road. I took a glance at the available spaces here and even walked the perimeter of the plaza, where I passed by Panda Express. I found it pretty cool that there was an eatery called Wicked Chicken. It’s such an unusual name that it made me walk over and take a peek at the drive thru menu board. I was getting a bit weary from all this walking, so I decided to visit Lyons Station on Lyons Avenue and one more location before heading home. This was around noon. I made a call to my uncle who was having lunch, and told him I was fine. He told me that he was very proud of me for going beyond my expectations and taking the liberty of doing certain tasks on my own. When I arrived at Lyons Station, I saw the Popeyes and Baskin Robbins. I walked toward the available spaces and passed by several tenants including a cafe. I found it stupendous to have an all you can east Korean BBQ restaurant in the plaza too.
By then, I really wanted to head home because I was exhausted, my feet were sore, and I knew it would be an hour ride back home. However, I told myself that I might not have the time to visit the SCV again this month due to my other responsibilities. With that in mind, I rode to Wayne Mills Place, where there was an available space for lease. It was near Magic Mountain Parkway and nearby hotels. I saw a few establishments such as Starbucks, which was on the other part of the location, a Mexican grill, and a restaurant that really piqued my curiosity. I have never heard of Crazy Otto’s Diner. I even went in and asked for a paper menu as a souvenir, but the staff told me they didn’t have one. Santa Clarita sure has fun names for certain establishments.
Finally, it was time to head home. When I got into the car that was driving me back, I really was tired. It had been a long morning and I did get a lot done. It took 56 minutes to arrive home due to an accident on the 5 freeway near the 2 freeway area. My Uber driver was very conversational and we struck up a nice chat. This guy was shocked when I told him he looked like 30 years old. He had asked me to guess his age and I really thought that. He was in pristine condition that really made people believe he was young. In fact, he was in his sixties! It was a fun experience overall.
Overall, I had an excellent time exploring the SCV further and assisting my family in making plans to open a shop in the area in the future. I got to meet new people and experience cool events. I am excited and can’t wait for my next adventure in Santa Clarita soon! Until next time, stay tuned!
